In-Person Session
As schools become increasingly digital, students are learning how to use apps and extensions to make content accessible and manage executive functioning deficits. These tools help students gain independence and are invaluable. However, what happens when students leave our schools and go on to the workforce or post-secondary education? Which tools do they still have access to, and which are no longer applicable? This session will explore the features of devices, apps, and extensions that are frequently used in the school environment and discuss how those features may or may not be available to students once they leave the school. Funding, availability, and environmental considerations will be discussed, and participants will leave ready to address access to tools throughout the lifespan.
