New technology, new initiatives, constant changes- you feel like there is never enough time to keep up and learn all the things.

  • You give up evenings and weekends to try to find ways to make your classroom engaging and you know your lessons should be accessible but sometimes you just don’t know how.

  • You end up with lessons that are less than you want them to be and you are dealing with student behaviors instead of connecting with your class.

  • You are stuck in a cycle of If I only had more time, “If I could just learn this one tool”, “If there was just an easier way to do this”, maybe things could be better.

  • You have the vision of the teacher you want to be - confident, relaxed, smiling with her students, celebrating their successes, but you are beginning to think that dream is out of reach.

I believe you have the power to create an engaging and accessible classroom.

Executive Functioning

“How you get yourself together to do the things you need to do.” - Cassie Frost

Executive Functioning deficits may look like-

  • The student who forgets to do their homework.

  • Leaving home without your lunch.

  • The student that never has a pencil.

  • Missing the deadline.

  • The student whose gaze is out the window or anywhere but at the lesson.

  • The student who panics as soon as you say “time’s up!”

  • The student who can’t close their folder because of the papers shoved inside.

In the classroom, this causes lost learning. At home, this causes frustration and guilt.

If you are looking for a starting point, or need a quick checklist of changes to help your students with organization, attention, memory, and time management, download our Executive Functioning Checklist below!
